WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) is the W3C technical standard defining how to make web content perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for people with disabilities; the current version, WCAG 2.2, was published October 2023.

About WCAG

Maintained by the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), WCAG is organised under four principles (POUR) and graded at three conformance levels (A, AA, AAA). Most national accessibility laws — ADA, EAA, Section 508, AODA, ACA — reference WCAG conformance as the operative test.
