Who must comply

  • Manufacturers of in-scope products placed on the Ireland market.
  • Importers and distributors with a Ireland presence.
  • Service providers offering covered services (banking, e-commerce, transport, ebooks, audiovisual, e-comms) to Ireland consumers.
  • Micro-enterprises (< 10 employees, < €2 million turnover) are exempt for services only.

Steps to compliance in Ireland

  1. Confirm in-scope status under the Ireland transposition.
  2. Map your product against EN 301 549 v3.2.1 (WCAG 2.1 AA for web + chapters 5/11/12/13).
  3. Audit and remediate; pair manual review with automated rule scanning.
  4. Publish a Ireland-language EAA accessibility statement (Article 13).
  5. Maintain technical documentation for market surveillance enquiries from CCPC / NDA.
