Department of Electronic Communications oversees market surveillance and complaint handling in Cyprus.

Who must comply
- Manufacturers of in-scope products placed on the Cyprus market.
- Importers and distributors with a Cyprus presence.
- Service providers offering covered services (banking, e-commerce, transport, ebooks, audiovisual, e-comms) to Cyprus consumers.
- Micro-enterprises (< 10 employees, < €2 million turnover) are exempt for services only.
Steps to compliance in Cyprus
- Confirm in-scope status under the Cyprus transposition.
- Map your product against EN 301 549 v3.2.1 (WCAG 2.1 AA for web + chapters 5/11/12/13).
- Audit and remediate; pair manual review with automated rule scanning.
- Publish a Cyprus-language EAA accessibility statement (Article 13).
- Maintain technical documentation for market surveillance enquiries from Department of Electronic Communications.
